bugger!

ok so i'm actually gonna quit this livejournal lark now. i'll set up a different one eventually or clean this one up. ok?
while i'm here, i'm gonna try out this 'thumbnail' business. for when i get a new one. then i can just thumbnail link images into it instead of funking around with size.the blue b-ball player image is a hand-drawn scanned in photoshopped pic.

the orange-y (im colourblind, you tell me) african chick was just traced over the top of an african lady that i lightboxed, scanned and photoshopped. i'm immensely proud of the b-ball player, i use it everywhere. it's the desktop pattern on my pc, haha.

anyway, 'til we meet again.

a new pic

Ok, this one's brief 'cos i've been putting this pic everywhere and i'm getting sick of talkin' about it.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

It's a photoshop painting of a friend of mine. Possibly texting a lady!! :0

Marvel Boy

This is a pic i started this morning using photoshop-

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I recently saw the cover for an issue of Agents of Atlas, and was inspired to do my own version of the golden age character Marvel Boy. This is just a sketch of sorts, i'm gonna add stuff and colour to it eventually. Maybe throughout the week.

Thug painting

Ok... i hate photobucket. Just when i'm happy with how i put up my blogs, they go and f**k it up, the bastards. Because Photobucket is gay, this blog is totally buggered up and i apologise for that. But anyway, this was a painting i did last night. Here's the original sketch.

And this one is the basic coloured one. I was hoping to do a blue dude, inspired by some Frazier Irving pics i looked at on google, but i lost interest in that idea pretty quick.
This one is the nearly finished painting, on A4 paper. I decided it would look good on a red background, so i painted onto the back of a card envelope and stuck it on.

And that's pretty much it... god, what a crap blog. Maybe the Blogspot one will look better. Oh, and if you want to see the totally finished picture, with added photoshop stuff, here's the link for my Deviantart page. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/40943645/
That's pretty much it, catch ya's later.

Haunted?

Here's a picture of a house i did, using a photo of a building near where i live and some photoshop.  Inspired by a page in Ash Wood's Lore book 1. Umm.... some of the backgrounds are from a stock images website i found. But mostly made by me.

That's about it, been a little bit busy. So dunno when next Blog will be.

Head

Right, well, here's a pic i did last night. Inspired by Seth Fisher's Willworld and a Beck song i can't remember the name of.

This here is some heavy Computer stuff... Really proud of this, actually. Uh... that's pretty much it for this Blog i'm kind of out of things to talk about. Just wanted to post this pic up. And i've set up a blog on that Blogspot or whatever, so i'm kinda busy setting that up at this very second. And doing a photo of a hand coming out a toilet. I hate college mornings, i'm trying to do too many things all at once while i have the chance to use a good computer..

Damned city.

Okay, i'm addicted to creating city images now. Here is a photo i took last night.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
And here's what i did with it... I made the sky/background thing too. I love Photoshop.

I might end up adding text and stuff sometime, but dunno, 'cos i don't wanna have a repetitive city theme in all my blogs... that in mind, i've started colouring that Creeper pic from a few Blogs down. Be posting that soon, i think. Although i have got an overdose of that image on this page, my userpic and stuff... ah well. And i'm gonna colour the Kid Eternity sketch from a few blogs down too. That should look okay i think, might make a background for it too. Anyway, gonna run now.

City

So, this is what i've done today using the pictures from yesterday. All images taken from google, 'cept for the background and text and stuff.

Heavily inspired by the DMZ... Can't really think of anything else to talk 'bout, just wanted to show the pic.

NeverVille could be a good name?

Okay, sooo i may have mentioned a few blogs down that i am thinking of making my own comic. Well, i'm starting putting together stuff for that now. For the moment, i'm making a webcomic. I have no idea of storylines and characters as yet, but i knew that i wanted to create a city as the background for the stories. So, while thinking about it, i ended up at the top of a shopping centre in the city centre with a fantastic view of the buildings. I remember seeing the wonderful images of Snowtown that Ben Templesmith created for Fell, so i thought i'd have a really quick experiment. I took these photos last night, then merged them just now on Photoshop.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I am aware that it looks rough as hell at the moment, but it is my first attempt at something like this, so i think i can get away with it. I'm gonna mess with it on Photoshop now, with the different filters and effects and stuff. I think that's pretty much all i can think of for now, But i might be putting a new blog on shortly after this one with an edited version of the photo.
I've only just started experimenting with Photobucket.com and am not really sure how to do the blog thing directly from the site. Wish i'd known you could do it earlier though, some of my blog pics are STUPIDLY placed. Can resize and everything!! brilliant.
Oh wait, i just figured out how to work it. Right, here's a messed up version i just did in, like, five minutes. I changed the opacity of it, so it looked similiar to the Fell covers. If you're familiar with Fell, i made this photo look extremely similiar to the white bit with the title on. But i couldn't put that up as it looks soooo same-y. Anyway, yeah, messing with contrast and brightness can be fun.

I'm gonna try and incorporate type into this using illustrator, which i was kinda inspired by the DMZ covers to do. And there's this book on type in college library called Skyscraper, where it's all black and white text messed up and stuff. AND because i've been doing a project on typefaces and letterforms in college since i came back. Anyway, i'm gone now, college breakfast!!!

Bananahammock

Today's sketches... Produced last night and then scanned in and stuff in college.
I was thinking of doing a series of these girls in a row and making a background or something... then maybe adding the guy from a few Blogs down into the pic as well. The guy with the 'new york' shirt on.

And here's what i've spent about five minutes doing on Photoshop linking the two images.

That's pretty much it, i'm off to get college breakfast. Caramel Shortcake. Yummy.

Paint...Photoshop...

Okay, nothing new since last blog, but i though i'd show all the sketch i did last night. It was just a quick scribble with a marker pen, i'm in college at the moment messing with it on photoshop. So, i guess this is the original version before i mess it up...

And this one shown below is what i've just done on Photoshop, as i really want to colour something with the program, so i started on this.

I'm probably going to leave it at that, then i might put up the finished and coloured pic in a future blog. If i don't lose interest in it. That might look pretty cool, 'cos there SHOULD be a big change in the image from this Blog to the future version.
Anyway, i'm gonna get cracking 'cos i got like, five minutes before my friends start coming to college and i get distracted.

Surely?

Right, so i don't think i'm going to talk in this blog, just thought i'd put some pic-age up as i'm rather bored, old beans. I'm kinda recovering from a party last night, i only had an hour and a half sleep... So i'm kinda not making a whole lot of sense. This first picture is a scribble i did a while ago, based on the DC character, The Creeper. I totally attacked it with messy paints today, and 'weirded it up' using Ulead Photo Express just now. It looks better than it used to, i swear. Y'know what, i really should take photos of the sketches i do. i tend to just draw them then paint them straight after. But, anyway...

After all the computer stuff, i decided i'd change my network banner on Myspace.com, so i fiddled with it some more. I kinda like how it looks, but maybe regretting putting a link for my Deviantart.com at the bottom, haha. Yes, well, shown below:

I think that's pretty much all i can be bothered to put into this entry, and i'm missing Lost, so think i'm gonna go watch that. Finale on Tuesday! woop woop!
Christy on a Bikey, i am very sleepy. I fell asleep watching Smallville earlier. But maybe that's just 'cos it's so lame? Used to love it. Anyway...

Never-Ville

Hmm. This looks like it's gonna be a weekly thing then.
Okay, well, there's not much new with me, so this is just a "i'm still here" blog. While i was sitting in a car today, i took a marker pen to my college bag. Here's the results:

That's pretty much the only thing i've drawn recently, which i think is a shame. Stupid college interfering my social life. And now, i am COMPLETELY out of things to talk about.
I'm just gonna go now. Getting pretty peeved off with someone on the dread MSN...So, yeah catch yous later.

Antidote

Okay, boring sunday... Have the time, though, so here's a Blog!!
I've been totally obsessing over my new favourite comic, Fell, so thought i'd try at drawing the main character. This is a sketch that i am going to colour and stuff on photoshop tomorrow morning. If i remember (or am still interested), i will save the image several times and post the images on here. Then i will have another 'step by step' thing...sort of. I probably won't actually be saying what i'm doing each picture, but i like putting the pics up to see how they change each time and stuff. You'll have to excuse me with this Blog, i'm bloody knackered and don't really know what i'm trying to say. Oh yeah, before i forget, here's said sketch.

I have took a few photographs today, of texture and bricks and stuff like that, to save on my computer/college computer for future photoshop images. I made a whole load of pages of just ink and paint splatters especially. I really hope this 'Fell' picture is gonna turn out okay tomorrow... I have such plans for it.
Hmm... well, there's not much else to talk about really. Tomorrow's blog should look pretty cool, it's gonan be pretty similiar to the Blog featuring the images of the family, located down below. And i've decided, if my friend ever finishes colouring it, the family picture is going to be called 'Safe from Harm'. Just because i've listened to the Massive Attack song of the same name an awful lot recently.
Anyway, bed time...

Fell

Aw, hell.

I promised myself i'd put up a Blog everyday. Look at the gap!!
well, i've been busy, but i've had loads of chances to put up a new blog, so don't know what's happened really. Um... not much is new really, back at college now. Photoshop's good, but not as good as i'd got my hopes up for during the holidays. Quite the letdown. In fact, the only picture i'd done over the holidays that i altered on photoshop is my WormWood one that i put on deviantart some time ago. It looks pretty cool an' got me added to the Ben Templesmith fan club on deviantart.com.
Here's a pic i thought i might as well put up...

It's a really old Kid Eternity sketch i found on my photobucket, and i haven't got the time to put a new pic on there. It takes forever on this piece of crap computer. So, an old pic. That i'm thinking of colouring on photoshop. Actually, that could be cool, But it probably won't be Kid Eternity for long!!
Recently started buying 'Fell' by Warren Ellis and my hero Ben Templesmith, with the change i get off college lunch. I'm really enjoying the comic! I'm playing catch-up and i'm up to #2, and trying to find #3 'cos the only comic shop in hull doesn't have it.
Anyway, i'm off. Will be updating whenever...

Paradox?

So, today's the anniversary of me breaking my arm so bad they put a massive lump of titanium in to hold the bones together. BUT, i forgot, so i'm writing this in the future and backdating. You know, they said they'd probably take the titanium back out my arm within a year, that was in 2003!! Funny how things work out.
Here's the pic i thought i'd finish, but never did.

Ah! A good idea would have been to scan in the photo of my x-ray from when i broke my arm... damn me. Maybe some other time. I have two x-rays of the actual broken bones, and an x-ray of the arm with the titanium in. Yes, i think i'll put one of those pics on one day. Probably next anniversary...
Anyway, back to the future i go.

white light/white heat

So, been bit busy but drew a little bit this morning, so...
And stupid Photobucket's gone all dodgy, and i can't bloody well resize images anymore, so it's a small one.

This was like, an attempt at doing an image similiar to that myspace background a few blogs down. I was thinking of doing them like a series, with similiar backgrounds to link 'em together. But, i didn't really fancy sticking this on Deviantart 'cos it's not really as good as the other one. I had an idea to use the myspace background guy as like, a template or something for more characters, so i'm gonna be doing a few sketches and whatnot with the guys all in pretty much the same position... Actually, that doesn't sound very good at all. We'll see. Here's the sketch i used for the image at the beginning of this blog.

I bought the Brendan McCarthy issue of 'Solo' yesterday, and oh my god that fellow is weird. Possibly the weirdest comic i've bought in a long time. Some cool images though. I was kind of inspired by it, but haven't drawn anything that looks like it was inspired yet.
Anywaay, i'm off to go buy a lot of chocolate.
And marker pens, 4 for 50p... :)

(no subject)

Right, well, i've been drawing and painting quite a bit today. It's just a shame most of it was crap! But, i worked a bit on a picture i'm getting a friend to colour, and it's quite a cool image now. I got a good friend from college to do the colours, but i'm not sure when or if he's gonna do it.
I'll put the finished image on here when it's all done i think. And a link for said friend's deviantart account. But, for now, i've got a little 'step by step' thing on how i created the non-couloured image.

These first two images are the original sketch, and then the painted version, for which i used a grey teal acrylic and lots of water. I did this yesterday, but when i got out of bed this morning i thought about adding some soldiers, so i drew one up.

After i'd drawn the soldier, i was going to just stick it on the page with the family, but it didn't fit. I cut the images out and stuck them on the back of a card envelope i recieved this morning, then painted the whole thing to tidy it up. Just after i started painting the card, i thought about making the hooded girl holding up the blanket like a flag or cover or something, so i stuck more paper on and finished painting.
I'm really proud of this pic, i think it's my first 'group shot' as i usually go for single characters.
Anyway, i gotta head out now, so i might add to this blog some other time.
